It was a record setting day for Derek Rodriguez of the Parkview track and field Braves Thursday.
The 7th grader won three events and set two school records in their season opening meet at Newton.
He won the 100 meter dash and won both the 200 meters and long jump with record setting performances.
The 7th grade finished 4th out of 5 teams competing.
The 7th grade Parkview Lady Braves won their 6 team meet.
Sienna Ivers won the 200 meter dash and was part of 2 winning relay teams to propel the team to the victory.
The 8th grade boys team was 5th out of 6 teams and the 8th grade girls 4th out of 6 teams.
Lexi Brooke broke the 8th grade 1600 meter record as well.
The track and field Braves will open the home schedule next Wednesday with a four team meet at Ed Loeb Field in Lawrenceville.
