Rochester's Saturday regional win earned the Zebras a baseball semi-state appearance. But the opponent and location had to wait until Monday.
Now, the mystery has been removed from the postseason brackets following several baseball regionals that were completed Monday. That included Westview downing Eastbrook to advance from the 2A regional round, 12-1.
Rochester (20-10) is one of three teams from the final 2A poll in the top ten. The seventh-ranked Zebras will play Westview (19-10) in the second game of the north semi-state at Oak Hill Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
The opening game at Oak Hill pits #10 (2A) Illiana Christian (19-9) against Madison-Grant (17-10). First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
The only other 2A team left in the Elite 8 that finished in the top ten at the end of the regular season was second-ranked Providence. Providence is in the four team field in the south semi-state at Plainfield.
