Class 2A, No. 15 Triton Central outscored Greenwood Christian Academy 24-12 in the second quarter and cruised to a 73-35 victory Thursday in its home opener.
The Tigers (1-1) built a 32-18 lead at halftime then doubled up the scoring effort of the Cougars in each of the final quarters to secure the win.
Maryrose Felling scored 19 of her game-high 27 points in the first half. The senior hit four three-pointers and went 5-for-5 at the free throw line.
Quinn King hit three 3s and finished with 18 points. Rylee Pruitt added 11 points off the bench.
Myra Finnity led Greenwood Christian (0-2) with 15 points. Molly Hunter finished with 10 points.
Triton Central lost the junior varsity game against Center Grove, 37-29. Ryn West led the Tigers (1-1) with eight points.
Triton Central hosts potential sectional opponent Eastern Hancock (2-0) Saturday night. The Class 2A, No. 7 Royals feature junior guard McKenzie Koch (26.5 ppg), who is verbally committed to play basketball at Ball State University.

At Morristown, the visiting Cougars outscored the Yellow Jackets 8-2 in the overtime period to improve to 3-0 this season and 2-0 in the Mid-Hoosier Conference standings.
South Decatur led 15-11 at halftime but Morristown (1-2, 0-1 MHC) outscored the Cougars in each of the second half periods to extend the game to overtime.
Morristown will host Milan (0-4) Saturday.
