Members of the Triton Central High School baseball team have been named the Beth Prince State Farm Athletes of the Week.
The Tigers claimed their first baseball sectional title since 2012 with a 6-5 victory over Heritage Christian on June2.
It was the team's 20th win of the season.
On Saturday, TC fell to Class 2A, No. 7 Shenandoah 4-2 at the Madison Regional.
The Tigers (20-6) lose five seniors to graduation. They helped the program make its first regional appearance in more than a decade. The loss Saturday afternoon will provide added motivation for a program with several key players returning to the lineup.
“This was huge. The senior class has won 66% of the games they’ve played in at Triton Central,” said Tigers head coach Justin Bergman.
