Lincoln Seventh opens at Chesterton tourney CHESTERTON - The Lincoln Jr. High seventh grade Boys Basketball A Team opened up their season at a tournament in Chesterton on Saturday. LJH's first game was against New Prairie falling by 47-25 score. New Prairie came into the game already having several games played this year. During the first half, the game was fairly even, LJH was down most of the game, but would fight back and bring it close again. New Prairie was able to hit a buzzer beater three at the end of the first half to extend the lead to seven at halftime. Lincoln seventh Grade was lead in scoring by Payton Bonebrake and Skyler Ganshorn, both with six points. Caleb Bowling and Coby Walters each chipped in five, and Ryan Tremaine added three points. LJH played in the consolation game against East Chicago who jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, but the Red Storm were able to fight their way back and take the lead in the second half. LJH was led in scoring by Coby Walters with 12 points. Peyton BoneBrake added eight points along with the best defense on the team. Caleb Bowling chipped in six, David Sills added four points, and Jaxson Warner and Skyler Ganshorn each had two. The LJH A Team will be in action Tuesday when they host Bremen.
