The Lawrenceville Lady Basketball Indians stayed with favored Robinson for three quarters at home Monday night, but the tall and talented Lady Maroons eventually wore down the hosts in the final quarter and won 61-44 in Little Illini Conference (LIC) play. The Lady Indians played solidly and led 16-8 after one quarter before the visitors took the lead at 25-20 at the half. The Lady Maroons extended the lead to 40-31 after three quarters before using their size and quickness to pull away for the 17 point win. The Lady Indians were led by Addeline Sanders with 18 points and Kenidee Boldt added 13. Their record is now 6-12 overall and 0-4 in league play. The next action for the squad is Saturday when the #8 seeds take on the top seeded Mt Carmel Lady Golden Aces at 1 p.m. in the first game of the 2024 Little Illini Conference (LIC) Girls Basketball Tournament at Lawrenceville High School.
