It was a thrilling first win of the season for the Lawrenceville Lady Softball Indians
They rallied from behind late and went on to beat the Carmi White County Lady Bulldogs 8-7 in 8 innings at Carmi. The Lady Indians were behind 6-1 heading into the top of the 5th inning, but they scored 3 in the inning and then 2 more in the 6th to tie the game at 6. The game would go to extra innings, where the Lady Indians would plate 2 runs in the top of the 8th inning and hold the hosts to 1 in the bottom of the frame to notch the win.
With the victory, the squad is now 1-1 on the young season and will return home to host Edwards County in JV/Varsity action at Phil Alsman Field Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
