The quest for the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 7-3A state volleyball title came up short for the Parkview Lady Braves.
They went 1-2 in action Friday and Saturday at the finals at Warrensburg-Lathan High School.
The Lady Braves won in quarterfinal play Friday night over Monticello 25-16, 25-23 to advance to the semi-finals Saturday.
They then lost to Staunton 12-25, 18-25 and then dropped a 22-25, 11-25 decision in the third place match to Manteno.
The losses were the first two of the season for the team, which wrapped up an outstanding year at 27-2.
