One of the greatest to ever suit up for the Greencastle Tiger Cubs will be recognized on April 12.
Terry Gobert, who played baseball, football and basketball and is a 1979 graduate. He earned his undergarduate degree from Indiana University in 1983, and his Master's degree from DePauw University in 1985.
Gobert will be honored prior to the Jasper vs Greencastle baseball game in what has been dubbed, "Terry Gobert Day in Greencastle. "
Gobert currently coaches Jasper, where he has been for four decades during which the program has six state titles and 912 wins. Gobert became the second Indiana High School baseball coach to win his 900th career game, joining Jake Burton of Twin Lakes.
Greencastle officials are asking for the community to attend a pregame ceremony on April 12 at 10:45 a.m. and then stay for the game, which is slated for 11 a.m. The first 100 spectators will receive a free hot dog courtesy of Bethel Church.
