Goshen College volleyball welcomes Culver's Morrison GOSHEN — The 2019 Goshen College women's volleyball season continued to take shape Tuesday as first-year head coach Kourtney Crawford announced her inaugural recruiting class. The group of three players joins a set of four sophomores, five juniors and two seniors to round out Goshen's roster as the Maple Leafs anxiously await their first match, an August 16 clash with the University of the Cumberlands at Huntington University. The home opener is Sept. 4 against Marian. Among the group of incoming freshman is Culver's Sarah Morrison, at outside hitter. A team captain and team MVP for Culver Community High School, Morrison led the Cavaliers in aces, kills, serving percentage and hitting percentage. She was tabbed all-Hoosier North Athletic Conference and named the school's Outstanding Female Athlete. The four-sport star hit .269 with 129 kills and 52 aces during her senior season and also played soccer, softball and basketball. "Sarah is going to be a great asset to our program," said Crawford. "She was a multi-sport athlete in high school and knows a lot about hard work. Her athleticism and ability to play multiple positions will be huge for us." Morrison, the daughter of Kim and Jamey Morrison, will enter Goshen's nursing program with a minor in sign language interpreting.
