Shelbyville High School graduate Cheyenne Eads has been named the Beth Prince State Farm Athlete of the Week.
Eads, a freshman at the University of Indianapolis, tossed a five-inning no-hitter Thursday against Wheeling in Triadelphia, West Virginia. She walked one and hit another while striking out 12 in a 14-0 victory for the Greyhounds.
Eads became the third Greyhound freshman to throw a no-hitter, and the first since 2001. Her no-hitter set a UIndy record for the quickest first career no-hitter.
Eads also had three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs in the win.
