Wabash freshman Bryce Haney came into a precarious situation on April 13 and shut down the threat.
Wabash led Eureka 12-11 but the bases were loaded with two outs when Haney was called to the mound. The Triton Central graduate needed four pitches to induce a game-ending groundout to collect his first collegiate save.
Wabash is 9-20 this season.
Here is a look at other Shelby County graduates competing at the next level.

Oliver Gearlds
The Triton Central graduate finished second overall at the SXU Invite, hosted by St. Xavier at Old Oak Country Club in Homer Glen, Illinois.
Competing for IU Kokomo, Gearlds shot 74 (+3) on Thursday and 75 (+4) Friday for a two-round score of 149 (+7). IU Kokomo won the invitational.
Earlier in the week, Gearlds finished tied for 12th at the LTU Spring Invitational held at The Players Club at Woodland Trails in Yorktown, Indiana.
Gearlds shot 80 (+8), 77 (+5) and 71 (-1) for a three-round total of 228 (+12). IU Kokomo finished fourth on Tuesday at the event hosted by Lawrence Tech.
On Sunday Gearlds finished eighth overall (+11) in the IUK Shootout at Wildcat Creek Golf Course in Kokomo. He shot rounds of 79 and 74.

Avram Rund
The Triton Central graduate teamed with Luke Morris to defeat Manchester’s Brandon Rodriguez-Garcia and Omar Lemus, 6-0, Wednesday in a No. 3 doubles match that helped Franklin defeat the Spartans, 5-1.
Lemus defeated Rund, 6-3, 1-6, 10-4, at No. 5 singles.

Ethan Lambert
The Shelbyville graduate placed 39th in the discus (116 feet, seven inches) and 31st in the hammer throw (139-10) for the University of Indianapolis at the 121st Annual Little State Championships hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University Friday and Saturday.

Cheyenne Eads
The Shelbyville graduate added two more wins to her pitching record for No. 4 Indianapolis.
Eads went the distance Saturday in a 5-1 win at Missouri-St. Louis. She allowed five hits and struck out 10. She also had a two-run home run and scored two runs.
On Sunday, Eads improved to 23-2 with a complete game performance against Maryville (Missouri). She allowed two hits and struck out six in the 4-2 victory. She set down the final 18 Maryville batters to improve the Greyhounds to 47-3 this season.

Kali Laycock
The Shelbyville graduate had three hits Sunday in Franklin College’s 5-4 loss to Eureka in game two of a doubleheader. Laycock had a double and scored a run, but the loss ended Franklin’s 11-game win streak.
The Grizzlies are 24-6.

Jayda McKee
The Triton Central graduate had two hits, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored for Anderson Sunday in a 13-3 win over Berea.
The Ravens improved to 12-18.

Karissa Hamilton
The Shelbyville graduate had a run-scoring triple Wednesday in Kentucky’s 6-0 win at Northern Kentucky.
The Wildcats were swept in a three-game series by Alabama Sunday to fall to 25-25 this season.

Kylee Edwards
The Shelbyville graduate had two hits, including a solo home run and drove in two runs Friday in LSU’s 6-4 win over Ole Miss.
Edwards had five hits and five RBIs in the SEC series that the Tigers swept. LSU is 32-14 now and back even at 9-9 in the SEC standings.

Brayden Basey
The Shelbyville graduate had three hits, two walks and two RBIs Saturday in Christian Brothers’ 19-14 win at Valdosta State in Georgia.
Basey had a double Friday in a series-opening 14-4 loss. He had a sacrifice fly in game two of the doubleheader Saturday – a 4-1 loss.

Hayden May
The Triton Central graduate earned his first collegiate win for Vincennes University Thursday after pitching an inning of relief. He allowed no hits and two walks to collect the victory in a 14-4 win over Kaskaskia College.

Kaleb Murphy
The Triton Central graduate pitched a scoreless inning of relief Friday for Bethel in a 14-4 loss to the University of St. Francis (Ind.).
