Karissa Hamilton started her senior season at the University of Kentucky with a grand slam in the Wildcats’ season-opening 8-7 win Friday over Miami (Ohio) at the San Diego State Season Kickoff in California.
The Shelbyville graduate had three more extra-base hits Friday in a 5-3 win over Loyola-Chicago. She had two doubles and a triple and scored three runs.
Kentucky added a second win over Loyola-Chicago Saturday, 7-0. Hamilton had a single and a stolen base in the win.
The Wildcats suffered their first loss later that day to San Diego State, 4-3.
Kentucky closed out the event with an 8-0 win Sunday over Minnesota.
Here is a look at other Shelby County graduates competing at the collegiate level.

Kylee Edwards
The Shelbyville graduate helped LSU go 6-0 in the season-opening Tiger Classic in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The Mississippi State transfer moved right into the starting shortstop role for LSU. The Tigers defeated North Carolina State twice, Nevada twice and closed out the event Sunday with wins over Illinois (9-1) and Lamar (8-0).

Cheyenne Eads
The Shelbyville graduate earned two wins for the University of Indianapolis in the season-opening Music City Invitational in Smyrna, Tennessee.
Eads pitched a 9-inning complete game Friday, allowed three hits and matched her career high for strikeouts with 15 in the Greyhounds’ 2-1 win over Tiffin.
UIndy swept Tiffin with a 9-4 victory in game two. Eads went 1-for-3 at the plate with a walk and hit-by-pitch.
Eads returned to the circle Saturday and helped the Greyhounds defeat Ashland, 7-6. She scattered six hits and five walks while striking out six.
The Greyhounds, ranked No. 22 nationally, closed out the event with a 21-0 win over Kentucky Wesleyan.

Madalyn Hudnall
The Waldron graduate finished second in the shot put for Mount St. Joseph Saturday in the MSJ Alumni Open in Cincinnati.
Hudnall’s best throw was 40 feet, 1.5 inches.

Brayden Wilkins
The Triton Central graduate allowed his new 60-meter dash record at Franklin College to stand for just one week.
On Saturday at the Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, Wilkins lowered the record to 6.98 seconds and finished seventh in the championship race.

Ethan Lambert
The Shelbyville graduate placed 15th in the weight throw (46-2) and 29th in the shot put (37-8.25) for the University of Indianapolis Saturday at the Midwest Classic hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.

Hadyn Ball
The Triton Central graduate finished 2-2 at 197 pounds for Wabash College Sunday at the University of Indianapolis Greyhound Open.
Ball started the event with a 4-1 win over Anthony Cashman of Marian and a 4-2 win over Ridge Schutte of McKendree.
Ball was defeated in the quarterfinal round, 7-4, by McKendree’s Casey Olszowka. In the consolation round, Ball lost 4-1 to Grand Valley State’s Derek Badgley.

Emma Nelson
The Morristown graduate helped Marian Ancilla to a 3-1 record last week.
On Feb. 2, Nelson scored a career-high 13 points and added six rebounds, one assist and one block in a 56-41 win over Glen Oaks Community College.
The Chargers’ only loss came Wednesday in a 54-51 loss to Southwestern Michigan. Nelson finished with eight points, nine rebounds, one steal and one block.
On Thursday, Nelson had seven points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in Marian Ancilla’s 71-25 win over Andrews University.
The Chargers closed out the busy week with a 60-33 win at Glen Oaks Community College. Nelson had four points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Marian Ancilla is 13-9 this season.

Bella Larrison
The Waldron graduate had 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and six steals Wednesday in Anderson’s 71-57 win over Manchester.
On Saturday, the Ravens lost at Rose-Hulman, 79-54. Larrison finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and one assist.
The Ravens are 13-9.


Tenleigh Phelps and Lizzie Graham
The Triton Central graduates led IU South Bend to two wins last week.
On Feb. 2, the Titans defeated Calumet College of St. Joseph, 94-42. Phelps finished with seven points, seven rebounds and three assists. Graham had seven points, two rebounds and two assists.
On Wednesday, IU South Bend produced a historic victory over Mount Mary University, 119-28. The margin of victory (91 points) was the largest in program history.
Phelps had 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. Graham had 12 points and four rebounds.
The Titans are 17-6 this season.

Olivia Faust
The Triton Central graduate had four points, three rebounds and one assist Saturday in Marian’s 78-55 win over Taylor University. The win improved the Knights to 22-2.
On Wednesday, Faust finished with two points, two rebounds and two assists in Marian’s 94-42 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Brooklyn Bailey
The Triton Central graduate had four points, seven rebounds and four assists Wednesday in Kaskaskia’s 60-52 loss to Danville Area Community College.
Kaskaskia is 6-18 this season.
