Bremen boys eighth at NIC MISHAWAKA - The Bremen boys track and field team competed at the NIC Championship meet hosted by Mishawaka on Thursday night looking to compete against some of the best in Northern Indiana. By the end of the night, many individuals and relays had achieved season best times, distances, and heights and the Lions came away with an eighth place finish in the 13 team field. Highlighting the performances was senior Justin Zumbrun who had season or personal best attempts in the 110 and 300 hurdles and long jump. Zumbrun earned All-NIC honors in the 110 hurdles placing third in the finals. Senior Evan Manges scored in both hurdle races as well and in the high jump. Junior Evan Yoder placed in the 400 meter dash and anchored the 4×400 relay team that also included junior Zack Miller, sophomore Brady Ginter, and freshmen Noah Wagers that placed 6th with a season best time. Miller and Ginter joined sophomore Lennin Diaz and senior Wyatt Pollard on the 4×100 relay that scored in 7th place. The 4×800 relay of Kenny Hilgendorf, Lextin Willis, Aaron Young, and Seth Young scored in 8th place. The boys compete next in the Plymouth Sectional next Thursday at Plymouth High School. Field events start at 5:30 pm, the 4×800 relay runs at 5:45, sprint trials start at 6:10, and the running finals begin at 7 pm.
