Terre Haute, In. – Back in January a woman entered a Terre Haute Kroger Store to shop. While momentarily distracted the woman’s, purse was stolen from her shopping cart. Within days of the theft nearly $6 thousand in charges were racked up on two debit cards at Terre Haute area businesses. Kroger surveillance video shows a woman snatch the purse out of the cart and then go through it in another part of the store, taking a wallet that contained the debit cards and leave the purse behind. The woman taking the purse has been identified as 22-year-old Georgia R. Jones of Terre Haute. Terre Haute police detectives have been able to track down Jones and she has been arrested and charged with Theft where value of property is between $750 & $50,000. Fraud with loss between $750 & $50,000, Possession of marijuana and Possession of paraphernalia. Jones is scheduled to appear in court on March 4th.
