The Warming Center at the Beyond Homeless Day Shelter is preparing for a possible wintry weekend.
An arctic air forecast is expected to bring freezing temperatures and wind chill for Saturday and Sunday. If the "feels like" temperature is at or below 10°, the Warming Center at the Beyond Homeless Day Shelter will open.
The Warming Center will be open 24 hrs a day until the "feels like" temperatures rise above 10° at night. The Warming Center will be available to anyone who needs a safe space to get out of the cold.
To ensure the Warming Center can open quickly, and remain open for the most vulnerable, the public's help is needed. Would you like to be on the Warming Center Volunteer Call List? Please call 765-301-9263 option 2 and speak with a team member. They'll take your information and provide an overview of available volunteer options.
