Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Phend & Brown will have traffic delays on U.S. 31 to set beams for the southbound bridge over Elkhart Western Railroad between 13th and 14th Roads.
Traffic delays are expected Wednesday, October 9 through Friday, October 18 for staging for crane and beam delivery, and crane removal as well as the actual beam setting. On Tuesday, October 15, traffic will be stopped for up to 30 minutes at a time while the six bridge beams are set.
Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes or expect traffic delays. The schedule is weather dependent and subject to change. INDOT encourages motorists to slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
