Mt Carmel running back Elliot Acree ran for 216 yards and 3 touchdowns and quarterback River Deisher added 104 yards rushing and 1 touchdown to lead the host Golden Aces to a 42-15 win over the Lawrenceville Indians Friday night at Riverview Stadium in Mt. Carmel.
Acree scored in the first quarter on a 31-yard run to give the Golden Aces an 8-0 lead and then added an 8-yard scamper in the second to help increase the lead to 21-8 at the half. He then scored on a 7-yard run in the third to extend the lead to 35-8 after three quarters and the Golden Aces went on to pick up their fifth win against four losses to become playoff-eligible.
The Indians were led by junior quarterback Blayton Gossett, who was 17-21 for 192 yards and 2 touchdowns-a 10-yard strike to Luke Schultz in the first quarter and a 15-yarder to Jacek Mickiewicz in the fourth quarter. Senior Zach Coffey carried the ball 11 times for 48 yards for the Tribe.
The win was the 27th in a row for Mt. Carmel over Lawrenceville overall in football and was the 7th straight loss for the Indians, who finish the 2025 campaign at 1-8.
