State Representatives Jack Jordan (R-Bremen) and Jake Teshka (R-North Liberty) recently received appointments to serve on interim study committees, which will meet throughout the summer and fall to explore policy issues and work to identify solutions.
Legislators will hear testimony from the public, experts, and stakeholders as they work on bill recommendations ahead of the next legislative session, which begins in January.
Jordan will serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Fiscal Policy.
"Indiana remains fiscally responsible with a balanced budget over the next two years," Jordan said. "During the summer, lawmakers will continue to look at ways to make government more efficient and use taxpayer dollars wisely."
Teshka will serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Education, the Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance, and as a member of the Midwest Continental Divide Commission Board.
"Interim study committees are an opportunity to take a deep dive on issues affecting Hoosiers and work on legislation ahead of the next session," Teshka said. "I look forward to hearing from community members on these topics and continuing efforts to improve our region and state."
The 2025 legislative interim study committee assignments and topics can be found here, and legislative appointments for each committee are listed here. Committee hearings and agendas can be viewed on the Indiana General Assembly's website at iga.in.gov.
