The city of St. Francisville is looking for money for repairs to the River Bridge.

The City Council this week approved submission of an application for a $25,000 grant through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). The funding would go toward continued needed maintenance work on that bridge such as replacing boards and planks.

Mayor T.J. Moyes received council approval for the purchase of two 6-inch master water meters for the city water plant at the cost of $8500.

More work is being done to come up with the city's motor fuel tax (MFT) program for work on the city streets and alleys. Additional input is being sought from council members on prioritizing areas in their wards that are in need of repair.

The city is planning to employ summer help to assist city workers. Mayor Moyes indicated that the hiring process could begin in June of this year.
