The St Francisville City Council met in regular monthly session Wednesday evening. It was reported that the water bill ordinance with newly adjusted water rates passed in January by the council will go into effect with the March monthly bills. The increases made were necessary to help maintain and upgrade the city water delivery system. The city has now contracted with the engineering firm of Milano and Grunloh for work locating meters and water mains as part of the lead service line inventory. That inventory information will then be used to design plans, specifications and bid documents for the replacement of around 300 meter and service lines in the future. The project is anticipated to be bid in March. The city is losing it's certified daily water operator as Francis "Speed" Moody has resigned. He began in that position in 2011, but has been involved with the city water system since 1974. Also resigning was city water plant operator Carie Sanders. The city is currently looking at various options to replace both. Trey Chesser did start duties this week as a new city employee. The St Francisville CIC has announced the date for it's annual Fish Fry and Fireworks. It is set for Saturday July 6th at River Park. The meeting was the first held by the council in it's new home-the former Emmanuel Tabernacle Church building located at 800 Main Street in downtown St Francisville.
