The June Marshall County Jail report shows that 134 individuals were booked into the jail and the number one reason for arrests last month was possession of marijuana.
Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel released the top ten list of offenses for being booked into the jail in June.

Argos Police booked three people in jail in June while Bourbon Police had one, Bremen Police did twelve and Culver Police made four arrests. Troopers with the Indiana State Police made thirteen arrests in June, the DNR had one arrest, and Corrections arrested three. Officers from the Plymouth Police Department made twenty-six arrests last month and deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department had seventy-one.
On July 10th the population in the jail was one hundred thirty with ninety-eight being male and thirty-two being females. There were two people serving time with misdemeanor charges, twenty-seven inmates serving time for felony charges, ninety-one were being held for pre-trail, eight awaiting arraignment and two were being held for another agency.
The average daily population for June 2024 was one hundred thirty-one while six months ago it was one hundred forty-nine and one year ago the average daily population was one hundred fifty-eight.
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated fifty-three traffic accidents, forty-nine were property damage accidents and four were personal injury. Officers filed seventy-three case reports, wrote ninety-three citations and or warnings, and conducted fourteen security checks.
There are one thousand three hundred and thirty-six active warrants.
The Central Dispatch Center answered a total of four thousand one hundred and forty-two calls in June. One thousand three hundred and twenty-eight were 911 calls and ninety-nine-point twenty-five percent were answered in ten seconds or less. There were also one thousand and seventy-nine calls for the Sheriff’s Department.
