The United States Twirling Association (USTA) will conduct the 2024 U.S. Trials in Shelbyville beginning Friday.
William L. Garrett Gymnasium will be the host venue for the second time for the USTA. The event is a qualifier for the United States squad that will compete at the International Baton Twirling Federation (IBTF) Freestyle and Rhythmic World Championship from Aug. 4-11 in Helsingborg, Sweden.
The athletes arriving in Shelbyville will vie for gold medal honors in Men’s and Women’s Freestyle, Freestyle Pair, and Team. Among the competitors are past and present Grand National Champions and past World Medalists.
“This is sport baton twirling at its very best,” said USTA President Karen Cammer. “These are elite athletes who spend countless hours in training to earn the opportunity to represent their country in the twirling equivalent of the Olympic Games.”
The U.S. Trials competition is free Friday through Sunday and open to the public.
