The Rockville Police Department has received a report concerning counterfeit $100 bills being circulated in the vicinity.
To identify a fake $100 bill, check for security features by touching the paper to find raised printing, tilting the bill to observe the color-shifting ink on the number 100 and the bell within the inkwell, and holding it up to the light to uncover the embedded security thread and the watermark of Benjamin Franklin.
If you come across a suspected counterfeit, inform your bank, the U.S. Secret Service, or the police.
