It's going to be Bingo with a twist this week, as the Roachdale Friends of the Library will be hosting a plant bingo on Friday, 5.
The event, which will be held at the Roachdale Community Center, 206 N. Indiana St., Roachdale, will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will feature a walking taco bar and cold brew/dirty soda bar from 6 to 6:30, with bingo to follow.
According to Roachdale Public Library Director Jennifer Stranger, the idea of the fundraiser was the result of several Friends of the Library members attending plant bingo in other towns.
"Our local nursery, Davidson Greenhouse & Nursery had held an event in Crawfordsville and was excited to offer a local event. Hannah, their plant educator, will provide plant care tips and information on the plants she is bringing for their prizes. There will be a variety of indoor and outdoor prizes that she has handpicked. When a winner picks their prize, Hannah will give some information on the plant chosen," Stranger told The Putnam County Post.
Tickets are going quick, but there are still some available at Plant Bingo with Davidson Greenhouse & Nursery - Friends of Roachdale Library and are $30.
"We had hoped to have 40. Tickets had sold out at other events when they limited it to 20-30," Stranger said.
