The Plymouth Public Library will be hosting three movies at The REES this week as it wraps up its reading challenge program for the summer. People who have completed Trail 3 and selected their designated movie attend for free.
The first film is Disney’s “Swiss Family Robinson.” The 2 p.m. Wednesday matinee is designated as a Seasoned Citizens show, so someone in the group must be 55 or older to attend. Based on the popular novel, the movie covers the adventures of the Robinsons, who barely escape a raging storm, only to be shipwrecked on a deserted island. Seasoned Citizens also received a free popcorn and drink with their ticket.
“Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” will be shown Friday at 7:30 p.m. Another Disney classic, it was originally released as “Pirates of the Caribbean. The fantasy swashbuckler stars Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, and Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swan. Rated PG-13, those under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
“Everyone’s Hero” is the 2 p.m. family matinee on Sunday. Aug. 4. This animated movie follows 10-year-old baseball fanatic Yankee Irving. When Babe Ruth's prized bat is stolen during the 1932 World Series, Yankee steps up to the plate to help retrieve it for his beloved idol. He embarks on a wild cross-country journey that teaches him the stuff real heroes are made of, and along the way, Yankee learns the importance of perseverance and the true meaning of friendship.
Doors will open 45 minutes before each show. Concessions will be available for purchase.
