Plymouth Police Department officers made three traffic-related arrests over the Independence Day holiday weekend, with incidents occurring on Friday, July 3rd, and Sunday, July 5th.
At 12:50 p.m. Friday, Officer Krynock conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 31 at Veterans Parkway after observing a traffic infraction. The driver, Cornelius Demetrius Armstead, 35, of Fort Wayne, was found to have never received a driver's license. He was lodged at the Marshall County Jail.
Just 35 minutes later, Officer Wallace observed a vehicle driving recklessly on Oak Hill Avenue — passing in a double yellow no-passing zone and speeding. The officer initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle pulled into a residence in the 10,000 block of Muckshaw Road. The driver, Jonathan Calvillo, 23, of Plymouth, was found to be operating the vehicle without ever having obtained a driver's license. He was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail.
On Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., Officer Krynock stopped a vehicle driven by Anthony Frost, 30, of Osceola, on U.S. 31 at 9A Road for a traffic infraction. Frost was found to have a suspended license with a prior conviction. A search of the vehicle also turned up marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Frost was lodged at the Marshall County Jail and issued a court date and cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
