Plymouth Police make 3 arrests in less than 24 hours

Plymouth Police officers made three arrests over a roughly 24-hour period spanning Monday and Tuesday this week, including two incidents involving intoxication and one tied to an outstanding warrant from a neighboring county.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. Monday, June 8th, Plymouth Police responded to a report of a male who appeared intoxicated and was stumbling toward the wooded area behind the Red D Mart on North Michigan Street. Officers arrived to find 67-year-old Robert Mohn of Plymouth at the rear of the property, outside the protective barrier in a wooded area, hanging onto the edge of a dirt hill above the Yellow River.

Mohn initially resisted officers' attempts to assist him but was safely brought back up to the road. He was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked for Public Intoxication and held on a $250 cash bond.

Just hours later, at 4:18 a.m. Tuesday, June 9th, Officer Witkowski with the Plymouth Police Department was dispatched to the area of Elliot Street following a report of a possibly intoxicated driver. The officer located the suspect vehicle a short time later at the Red D Mart on North Michigan Street. Following an investigation, the driver — identified as Andrea N. Scott, 35, of Plymouth — was determined to have been operating the vehicle while intoxicated. She was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail.

Earlier Monday, just before 10:00 a.m. on June 8th, Officer Krynock with the Plymouth Police Department assisted Drug Task Force officers at Western Avenue and Council Drive. During the stop, 52-year-old Christopher A. Fields was recognized as having an active warrant out of Starke County. The warrant was confirmed, and Fields was lodged at the Marshall County Jail to await extradition.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
