Plymouth Police officers made two arrests on Tuesday, June 3rd, involving a suspended driver and a man wanted on an active warrant.
The first arrest came at 9:42 a.m. when Officer Krynock conducted a traffic stop at 2010 North Michigan Street — the McDonald's location — after observing a traffic infraction. The driver, Theodore A. Wheatbrook, 44, of Argos, was found to have a suspended driver's license with a prior suspension on record. Wheatbrook was booked into the Marshall County Jail at 10:08 a.m. and released later that afternoon at 1:48 p.m. after posting a cash bond.
Later that afternoon, at 5 p.m., Patrolman Thornton responded to 907 W. LaPorte Street to make contact with a man wanted on an active warrant. Officers located Griffin Forrest Sterling, 49, at his residence, took him into custody, and transported him to the Marshall County Jail. Sterling was held on a $2,500 cash bond on a warrant for nonsupport of a dependent.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
