The Plymouth Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals meet tonight at 7 and 7:30 in the second-floor Council chambers of City Hall.
The Plan Commission members have two cases to consider. The first is a rezoning request from Garden Courts for 8-acres of agricultural ground off Bayless Street behind Webster School. The property is currently zoned R-2 Suburban Residential and their request is to change the zoning to R-4 Multi Family Residential.
Garden Courts is proposing an integrated housing project with 4 apartment buildings and a total of 36 apartments. Of the 36 apartments 8 will be permanent supportive housing units and 28 units would be traditional tax credit units. The project also includes a community building with management offices, conference and therapy spaces, a community room, activity room, fenced playground, computer/reading room, community pantry and similar supportive spaces.
The second request for the Plan Commission is a minor subdivision of a 10-acre parcel on Pine Road by Graver Commercial Properties out of Nappanee. The request is to build a manufacturing facility zoned I Industrial.
The Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals will hear a variance request from Lauren Overmyer for an illuminated sign on the building at 113 East LaPorte Street. The Baldus Company from Fort Wayne is seeking a variance to have an electronic message sign on Miller Drive for the Bowen Center.
St. Michael Church is asking the BZA for two variances for signs, one at the corner of 612 North Walnut Street and a flush mounted sign at 627 North Walnut, both in a traditional residential district.
The meetings are open to the public and streamed live through Teams.
