One man was injured in a Friday morning crash.
About 10 a.m., the crash occurred involving a passenger car and a cement truck on West 12 B Road near King Road. Officers arrived within minutes to find one of the drivers trapped in a car with serious injuries.
The preliminary investigation by Indiana State Police indicates that a 2012 Ford passenger car driven by Robert Dragani, 81 of Plymouth, was traveling east in the 10,000 block of West 12 B Road when it crossed the centerline and collided with a 2007 cement truck traveling westbound.
The front left corner of Dragani’s car collided with the front left corner of the cement truck, entrapping him. The collision caused the car to rotate, coming to rest facing north in the eastbound lane of West 12 B Road.
The driver of the cement truck, Garrett Sallee Jr. was not injured. He submitted to a chemical test as required by Indiana statute for drivers involved in serious bodily injury and fatal crashes. Dragani was flown by Samaritan medical helicopter to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to be factors in the crash. Evidence gathered at the scene indicates that Dragani was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. West 12 B Road opened back up to traffic at approximately 11:30 a.m. for the crash investigation and removal of the vehicles.
The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Marshal County Sheriff’s Office, Argos Police Department, Plymouth EMS, Lutheran Air Ambulance, and Reichert & Knepp Wrecker Service.
