A Plymouth man was taken into custody Thursday evening after a Plymouth Police officer observed him riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed on one of the city's busiest corridors.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. on June 18th, a city officer spotted the motorcycle traveling southbound on U.S. 31 near the U.S. 30 interchange at what appeared to be excessive speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop, bringing the motorcycle to a halt at East Jefferson Street and Warana Drive.

The rider was identified as Dillon Doll, 32, of Quince Road in Plymouth. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on a pending charge of reckless driving.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
