Officer John Weir with the Plymouth Police Department arrested two individuals last week for Driving without a License and Driving with No Insurance.
On Thursday, February 23rd the officer initiated a traffic stop on a Honda Accord at about 7:30 in the morning at the intersection of Jefferson and Walnut Streets.
The driver of the vehicle, 46-year-old Bivian Alonzo Ruiz of Plymouth was found to have never possessed a driver’s license and failed to have proof of insurance. He was taken to the Marshall County Jail.
On Friday, February 24th Officer Weir stopped a vehicle just before noon at 5th and Adams Street because the Illinois license plate showed suspended through Illinois.
While speaking with the driver, 29-year-old Denis Antunez-Oseguer of Plymouth it was found that he had never received a driver’s license or insurance on the vehicle. He was transported to the county jail and held.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
