The Vincennes Redevelopment Commission was updated this week on the planned Firehouse Flats project-a $24 million downtown housing development.
AP Development officials were on hand to present information on the project, which will consist of a four story, 89-unit apartment building to be located at the site of the Firemen's Memorial at Main and Vigo Streets. The structure will feature a mix of single, double-and-three- bedroom apartments with a rooftop terrace and on-site parking for tenants and visitors.
Financing for the project will come from $4 million from the Lilly Endowment through the Regional Development Authority (RDA) and close to $500,000 in additional funds through the RDA. If all goes well, it is anticipated that construction work could begin by the middle of 2026.
