Shelby County Coroner Bradley Rund released the name of the person killed in a two-car crash in Shelby County Wednesday.
Brian Buschkoetter, 66, of Shelbyville, was declared dead at the scene.
The Shelby County Sheriff's Department responded just after 8 a.m. to Morristown Road, just north of Rafferty Road. The initial investigation states that a 2020 Ram pick-up traveling northbound and being driven by Trevor Wilkins, 28, of Shelbyville, crossed over into the southbound lane. The Ram struck Buschkoetter's 2003 Honda passenger car head-on.
Wilkins was arrested for driving under the influence causing death. The investigation is ongoing.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Shelbyville Fire Department, Shelbyville Police Department, Shelby County Coroner’s Office, Shelby County EMA and ISP.
