Major Health Partners (MHP) has announced the establishment of the MHP Nurse Honor Guard, a new initiative launched in 2024 to honor and commemorate the lives and dedicated service of nurses.
Created by a group of active nurses with the full support of MHP, the Major Hospital Foundation, and generous community donors, the Honor Guard provides a special ceremony at the visitation or funeral of a nurse.
This service, offered as a gift to families, recognizes the invaluable contributions of nurses and their profound impact on the healthcare community.
The MHP Nurse Honor Guard ceremony serves as a meaningful tribute to nurses who have dedicated their lives to patient care. It provides comfort and solace to grieving families by
honoring their loved ones' commitment to the nursing profession.
In addition to funerals, the Nurse Honor Guard also offers Living Tributes and Honor Walks to nurses who have made the
selfless decision to donate organs. These tributes recognize the gift of life nurses provide through organ donation, a lasting legacy that touches countless lives.
In the near future, funeral homes also will include
information about the service as they assist families with funeral arrangements.
The MHP Nurse Honor Guard was founded by a group of passionate MHP nurses: Traci Branstetter, Lacy Harness, Christy Neisler and Becky Arkenberg, who are committed to
honoring their fellow nurses and providing a meaningful and respectful farewell.
