The Marshall County Commissioners addressed several business items at their recent meeting, including new board appointments and equipment purchases.
The commissioners approved two appointments to county boards. Dr. Rob Holl was appointed to the Marshall County Board of Health, while Amber Reed was named to the Marshall County Tourism Commission.
Commissioner Stan Klotz presented a proposal from Cottage Watchman for security hardware installation at 990 Illinois Street in Plymouth, the location of the new Marshall County Health Department. The commissioners approved the $2,360 purchase for the security system.
Marshall County Weights and Measures Inspector Jerry Huss received approval to purchase a Seraphin Side Access Testing Trailer for $45,247. To reduce costs, the commissioners authorized a 50% down payment and decided to have someone drive to pick up the trailer rather than pay $3,500 for shipping.
The commissioners also approved the Commercial Risk Management and Insurance Proposal from Gibson Insurance for the policy period running from January 31, 2026, through January 30, 2027. The annual premium amount is $858,500.
