It's been around two years since Steven Raber opened his garage door installation and repair business Legacy Doors Co LLC.
After several years working for a cooperate business that installed garage doors, Raber saw the need for timely service that included quality. When first starting his business in Akron in 2024, Raber's Christian faith-based morals were one thing he found important as a business owner. Now employing three people for his business, Raber said he and his workers strive to make every customer feel comfortable as they work in their own home. This includes no smoking and vaping, nor loud music, or employees wearing crude apparel like cut-off shirts and dirty clothing.
Growing up Raber's parents owned and managed Raber's Grocery in Macy for the past 23 years, eventually expanding from one to three locations across several Counties since first opening in 2002. While the businesses are very different, Raber says his family's mindset has inspired him not be to afraid to take chances. That's one thing, Raber says, is what most people in his generation struggle to understand.
Starting the business at 26, Raber, now 28, says he's grown in leaps and bounds over the past few years, learning the in's and out's of garage door services and growing clients. Last year Raber took an even larger leap when he decided to move to his current location at 1519 Main St I Rochester.

“You can't learn it in a classroom. There's no book you can read that teaches you how to run a business, you just got to do it,“ Raber said. “It's about making mistakes and learning from them. That's how you grow.“ Raber said.
Always taking new customers, Raber said their company provides not only garage door installations, but also garage door repairs. They also pride themselves on providing service in a timely manner when a customer is in need. For more information on Legacy Door Co you can visit their website at www.legacydoor.net.
