Lawrence County States Attorney Brady Waldrop reports that a local man was sent to prison after an appearance in court this week.
20 year old David Cessna, Jr. of Lawrenceville was originally charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 Illinois Felony.
He was placed on probation,but violated the terms after being arrested on another meth possession charge.
As a result, Cessna was sentenced to 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) and will be on up to 6 months of mandatory supervised release on both charges Wednesday in Lawrence County Circuit Court.
The sentences will run concurrently.
