Failure to Appear tops the list of why individuals were booked into the Marshall County Jail in June, with 22 arrests. Operator Never Licensed followed at number two with 20 arrests, while Possession of Marijuana was third with 19 arrests, and fourth was Operating While Intoxicated, which also had 19 arrests. The fifth charge for being lodged in the County Jail was Domestic Battery with 14, the sixth was Driving While Suspended with 13 arrests, and Illegal Consumption of Alcohol was seventh with 9 arrests. Rounding out the top ten was Possession of Methamphetamine with 9 bookings, Forgery was ninth with 8 bookings, and Possession of Paraphernalia was tenth with 5 being lodged in the jail.
There were 151 people booked in the county jail during June, with Community Corrections making 1 arrest, Bourbon Police having 5 arrests, Argos, Bremen, and Indiana State Police making 6 arrests each. Officers from the Culver Police Department made 9 arrests, while Plymouth Officers had 45 arrests, and the Sheriff’s Deputies booked a total of 73 into jail.
The average daily population in the Marshall County Jail in June was 142. Six months ago, the average daily population was 120, and a year ago it was 132.
The Monthly Jail Report Day was July 23rd when there were 144 in the jail. There were 5 inmates serving time with misdemeanor charges, 21 serving felony time, 99 were pre-trial inmates, 13 were waiting arraignment, 5 were being held for another agency, and 1 was in for a court order. There were 115 males and 28 females.
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated 66 accidents, 42 were property damage, 21 were personal injuries, and 3 were fatalities.
County Officers started 78 case reports, issued 107 citations or warnings, and conducted 9 security checks.
The Marshall County Central Dispatch Center answered 4,527 calls in June, 1,363 were 911 calls with 98.9% being answered in 10 seconds or less, and there were 1,298 calls for service last month.
