The Indiana State Police (ISP) report that one of their troopers was hurt when his patrol vehicle was hit Tuesday June 16th on U.S. 41 in southern Knox County.
The mishap occurred around 6:15 p.m. EDT when Trooper Brett Pool experienced trouble and pull over to the road shoulder near the town of Decker. He was standing on the passenger side of the vehicle when it was struck by an SUV whose driver was 33-year-old Anna Elkins of Vincennes. The impact of the collision sent Pool tumbling into a nearby ditch.
Pool was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes and was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Elkins was not injured. Both vehicles suffered damages. After investigation, Elkins was ticketed for Unsafe Lane Movement.
