The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has released a statement from Director Dr. Sameer Vohra in response to the actions of the federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).
The statement says that the current guidance for Illinois parents and guardians remains unchanged. Earlier in the fall, the IDPH adopted the CDC immunization schedules as revised in August of 2025. It continues to recommend hepatitis B vaccinations for all newborns in Illinois.
The Illinois Immunization Advisory Committee is scheduled to convene on Tuesday, December 16th to review the latest ACIP recommendations.
