Three recently elected members were formally seated as the Illinois Eastern Community College (IECC) Board of Trustees met Tuesday night at Wabash Valley College (WVC) in Mt. Carmel.
The board recognized outgoing member John Brooks for nearly 20 years of service and Chief Information Officer (CIO) Alex Cline for 28 years of service to the district. Cline is set to retire at the end of April.
Sworn in were Susan Batchelor of Louisville, John McLaughlin of Olney and Roger Browning of Mt. Carmel. Batchelor and McLaughlin were seated for six year terms and Browning a two year term on the board. They were winners in the April consolidated election.
Dr. Sharmilla Kakac was officially named as the new Frontier Community College President and Vice-Chancellor of Business and Industry and Dr. Cathy Stennett Robb as IECC Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs.
New contracts were given to Lincoln Trail College (LTC) President Tona Ambrose, Olney Central College (OCC) President Chris Simpson and WVC President Matt Fowler.
The board also adopted a three year (2023-26) collective bargaining agreement with the IECC Education Association.
