About 5 p.m. on November 18, Parke County deputies investigated a residential burglary on Harbison Rd, near Raccoon Lake. After this initial report this location was burglarized again about 11:30 p.m.. On the second occurrence, the suspects stole a vehicle from the garage.
Minutes later, Parke County deputies located and stopped the stolen vehicle a couple of miles away.. Amber M. Butcher, 50, of Cayuga, was taken into custody for burglary, auto theft and theft. Her husband, Travis D. Butcher 47 of Cayuga was stopped and taken into custody near Cayuga. He was also charged with burglary, auto theft and theft.
A search warrant was executed at their residence and some of the stolen items were recovered.
The Vermillion County Sheriff's Office assisted in this investigation.
