An officer with the Culver Police Department and a Deputy with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Culver EMS employee for possession of marijuana and synthetic urine.
On Thursday, October 16, at approximately 9:13 p.m., Officer Alex Zerbee of the Culver Police Department and a Marshall County officer located a vehicle they had previously suspected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.
The vehicle was found parked and unoccupied on the street outside the Culver-Union Township EMS building.
Officers made contact with the vehicle's owner, an on-duty medic employee of Culver-Union Township EMS, who was located inside the EMS building. During that time, officers also detected an odor of suspected marijuana coming from the immediate area where the owner of the vehicle was located.
During the course of the investigation, items labeled as pre-rolled cannabis cigarettes, THC edibles, and suspected synthetic urine were located within the vehicle, as well as other suspected marijuana vape devices located in the immediate area around where the vehicle owner was located.

He was incarcerated at 10 p.m. for the alleged misdemeanor charges of: Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Synthetic Urine. Erickson was held on a $1,500 cash bond until 12:26 the next morning when his bond was posted.
A report will be filed with the Marshall County Prosecutor's Office for review of formal charges.
Information pertaining to this release is based on probable cause to believe the allegations have been committed. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty within proper court proceeding.
