Friday, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) released the following statement after being sworn in as a Member of the 119th Congress:
“It is an immense privilege, honor, and opportunity to continue serving and fighting for Second District Hoosiers in this new Congress.
“Over the next two years, we can – and must – deliver on President Trump’s America First mandate and the issues our citizens care most about. That means securing the border, deporting people who shouldn’t be here, and preserving our national identity; lowering costs and passing a tax bill that allows hardworking families to get ahead; expanding domestic energy production; restoring fiscal responsibility by cutting wasteful spending and reforming the role of the federal government; and returning to Peace through Strength and respected leadership on the world stage. If we do all these things, then I am confident that President Trump is right, and we truly can start to usher in a new American Golden Age.
Congressman Yakym closed his statement saying, “As I continue to serve in Congress, I am incredibly grateful to have the support of my entire family, and I will do all I can to make sure every family has their shot at achieving the American Dream.”
