A Plymouth Police Officer arrested a Chicago man for driving without a license after he was observed speeding on U.S. 30.
Saturday morning, May 4th at about 5:30 a city officer was patrolling on U.S. 30 and observed a vehicle doing 70 mph in a posted 50 mph speed zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop at U.S. 30 and Plymouth Goshen Trail.
The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Satyanarayana Mekarthi of Chicago, was found to have never been issued a valid driver's license. Mr. Mekarthi was placed under arrest and booked into the Marshall County Jail for a charge of operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
