Board of Public Works & Safety suspends Plymouth Police Officer for 90 days

Monday evening the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety took official action on the city police officer that has been charged with operating while intoxicated and OWI endangering.

Stuart Krynock was involved in a traffic accident on May 14th at 4:53 in the afternoon. He was off-duty and riding his motorcycle on Oak Drive near Pidco Drive when he was involved in a single vehicle accident.

Due to the severity of injuries, he sustained in the accident, he was not transported to the Marshall County Jail for booking and a mugshot. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The Indiana State Police completed an investigation of the crash, and the Portable Breath Test (PBT) sensor taken that afternoon registered a .174.

Stuart Krynock is charged with one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person as class A misdemeanor and one count of operating a vehicle with an BAC of .15 or more as a class A misdemeanor. His initial hearing was on June 25th in Marshall Superior Court II.

Patrolman Krynock has been on paid medical leave since the accident due to his injuries.

Monday night the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety unanimously approved a 90-day suspension without pay that begins on Tuesday, July 9th.

A pre-trial conference is scheduled for July 26 in Marshall Superior Court II.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
