Officer Ayala with the Plymouth Police Department conducted the traffic stop on a vehicle with a front windshield violation on Thursday at about 4:35 p.m. at South Michigan Street and East Lake Avenue.
During the stop, it was discovered that the driver, Doralina Castro-Guifarro, 32, of the 300 block of Conger Street in Plymouth, was operating the motor vehicle without having received a license.
Castro-Guifarro was transported to the Marshall County Jail, where she was booked and lodged for knowingly or intentionally operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license. She was given a court date for October and was released on a $100 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed, and there is only probable cause to believe that a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
