A three-vehicle crash on U.S. 6 Tuesday afternoon, December 31st resulted in two people being transported to the hospital and U.S. 6 being shut down.
At approximately 1:40 p.m. the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center was notified of a collision with injuries, on U.S. 6 at the State Road 106 west junction.
Officers arriving on the scene determined that Dorothea Troyer, 67, of Goshen, was traveling east on U.S. 6 in a 2005 Lexus.
87-year-old Richard Miller of Argos was driving a 2009 Buick Lucerne and was stopped at the stop sign at State Road 106 and U.S. 6. Miller failed to yield and pulled out in front of the Lexus. The Lexus struck the Buick in the rear driver's side of the vehicle and sent the Buick down in the ditch on the north side of the roadway. The Lexus was then struck by a westbound 2015 Volvo Semi Tractor Trailer being driven by Michael Truex, 66, of Nappanee. The two vehicles came to a rest in eastbound traffic.
U.S. 6 was shut down for a period of time while the vehicles and debris were removed from the roadway.
Two patients were transported to the Hospital with injuries, none of which were believed to be life-threatening.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Bremen Police Department, Bremen Fire Department, Bremen EMS, LaPaz EMS, and Newcomer's Wrecker Service of Nappanee.
